Esta historia empieza como un cuento tradicional, de una mamá con su niñita. Ella admira a su hija hermosa y sueña con la princesa en que se convertirá. Siempre le dice lo mismo: —Te quiero, te quiero mucho. —Sin embargo, mientras la niña crece, termina siendo un poco diferente que la mamá había soñado. En lugar de moños y listones, le gusta la ropa rasgada y trabajar con madera. Para una mamá que sueña con una princesa, dejar ir una idea idealizada es difícil. Me encantó el final de la historia, cuando la mamá aprende a amar a su hija así como es.

Esta historia podría aplicar a muchas mamás e hijas, cuya historia no va exactamente como lo esperado. Dejar a nuestras hijas realizar las personas que son no es fácil, pero es un acto de amor. Recomiendo este libro para cada mamá de una hija, sea bebecita, niña o ya grande.

This story begins very traditionally with a mother admiring her beautiful daughter and dreaming of the princess she will become. She always tells her the same thing: —I love you, I love you very much. —However, as the girl grows up, she ends up being a little different than the mother had dreamed. Instead of bows and ribbons, she likes ripped jeans and working with wood. For a mom who dreams of a princess, letting go of an idealized idea is difficult. I loved the end of the story, when the mother learns to love her daughter just the way she is.

This story could apply to many mothers and daughters, whose story is not going exactly as expected. Letting our daughters become the person they really are is not easy, but it is an act of love. I recommend this book for every mother of a daughter, whether she is a baby, a girl or an adult.
